That Time
November 1st, 2009
It’s that time of year again. The leaves have fallen. The first frost has come and gone. Things in the world are settling down for their long winter’s nap.
I find myself getting quiet inside. Looking as much within as without. This is the time of year I find myself making changes, setting resolutions, reevaluating where I am going and what I am doing. Most people do this at the the beginning of the new year. For some reason that has never set well with my internal rhythms.
Reconnecting with my core values, visions and “getting my mind right” before the Holiday season gets into full swing, is very helpful. Doing so in late October early November allows me a much greater calm in dealing with what should be the best time of the year for humanity, but is usually the worst. I find myself capable of more patience with others after having to remind myself to be patient with myself. I’m a work in progress. And so is everyone else. Reminding myself of that daily should probably go on this years list.
So, now it’s time to do a little dreaming, a little planning, a little letting go and step forward into next year. See you there.
